(New York, NY) October 4, 2007 - Global streaming company Jetcast, Inc. teams up with the Society of Broadcast Engineers (SBE) to provide the technology for a special Webcast, "The SBE and You", on Tuesday, October 9, from 8:00PM to 9:00PM, EDT. The interactive session will feature live questions from SBE members as well as comments from SBE's national leaders.
"With this Webcast, the SBE debuts a new dimension in online member services," remarked Tom Zarecki, Senior Marketing Executive at Jetcast. "Jetcast is proud to be offering this high-bandwidth, low-cost audio/video streaming technology to the SBE and to any of its member stations," he continued. "And afterwards, that same link will continuously replay the event 24/7 for those who couldn't attend live."
"We are very pleased to be working with Jetcast which makes it possible for those members who cannot attend to view the program," said John Poray, SBE Executive Director.
The majority of the Webcast will be devoted to an open question-and-answer session where members can e-mail, call or IM questions which will be answered live by the SBE officers, board members or national staff. Hosted by SBE President Chriss Scherer and President-elect Barry Thomas, the program will discuss current activities, provide insight into the latest educational initiatives and update ongoing projects and programs.
Individual SBE members and chapters are encouraged to participate. A link from the SBE Website www.SBE.org will be activated shortly before the program begins.
The program itself will originate from the AZCAR training studios in Pittburgh, PA, where that company produces broadcast engineer training programs for the Sprint/Nextel 2 GHz conversion.
